One of the most internationally recognised wine industry publications, the North American magazine Wine Enthusiast, has awarded 92 points to the renowned Ribera del Duero wine Matarromera Crianza.

The magazine, which specialises in wine, food, travel and entertainment, will publish this special mention of the 2014 vintage in its June edition. It will be the highest rating achieved by Matarromera Crianza in this publication. Other wines of reference such as Matarromera Pago de las Solanas 2010 and Matarromera Gran Reserva 2011 have previously been awarded 94 points.

Matarromera Crianza is the Matarromera wine par excellence and exemplifies the respect for the fruit-wood balance that characterises the winery. This 100% Tempranillo red wine is aged over 12 months in fine grain, moderately toasted barrels, kept in rooms with controlled light and humidity levels, and then in the bottle for a further 12 months. It has a medium-high colour intensity; cherry red with copious violet tones. It is a highly complex wine, interlacing powerful aromas of ripe fruit fused with lactones and hints of young wood. Is it a delicious wine, with a generous body and a long, robust finish. It has a good structure and refined tannins, with the innate elegance and intensity of the Ribera del Duero greats.
