I. IMPROVING VINEYARDS AND WINE-MAKING TECHNOLOGY

Alongside undertaking careful study their vineyards in order to produce grapes and wines of the highest calibre, Matarromera Group has also developed their wine-making techniques and technology, which allow for the creation of new products, such as alcohol-free wine. This research and development is carried out at a newly constructed production plant, where the dealcoholization of wines, as well as the making and marketing of WIN products, takes place.
The company strives to boost the beneficial compounds found in wine, in order to improve the health of consumers, through pursuing various lines of research. These include, to name a few, selecting microorganisms conducive to the wine-making process, adopting environmentally-friendly strategies and techniques, and studying how plants adapt to different climate conditions, soil and composts types, etc.

II. ICT, BIG DATA AND NEW TECHNOLOGY

Since its very inception, Matarromera Group has always been committed to constantly developing new technology. This is evidenced in the company’s various projects dedicated towards improving and automating processes such as bottling, grape harvesting, appropriate use of renewable energy sources, vineyard maintenance, etc.
The company has also adopted a number of ICT tools based on ERP, CRM and other systems that set out to boost the competitiveness of various centres and optimize processes, with the aim of improving the efficiency and wellbeing of the professionals that form the company’s team. Thanks to these information technology and communication systems, there is now improved access to a greater amount of information, which is essential to carrying out processes with speed and agility.

III. PRODUCTS DERVIED FROM WINE AND OIL

As a wine-making group, Matarromera is decidedly dedicated to the care of vineyards and their grapes, but their work also extends to cultivating olives and producing extra virgin olive oils. Thanks to research conducted by the group, they have been able to develop compounds from the rich raw materials at their disposal, such as grapes and olives, as well as study the benefits of certain extracts and their potential use in other spheres, not only in food matrices and products, but also in cosmetic and nutritional sectors. This research has also allowed for the design and development of new, previously unavailable products.
The extraction of polyphenols and other organic compounds has allowed Matarromera Group to produce natural ingredients, improve both its wine- and oil-based products, and create supplements that reap various health benefits, such as Vinesenti and ESDOR Cosmetics.

IV. ENVIRONMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY

Matarromera Group not only holds sustainability and respect for the environment as one of its fundamental pillars, but also constantly strives to make advances in this sphere by exercising strict control over its emissions and seeking to reduce them where possible through numerous different means.
On top of this, the company also follows an internal policy known as “A Sustainable Matarromera on Planet Earth”, which details various courses of action that are constantly being advanced and improved upon by carrying out relevant research in this sphere.
